Year on and I still absolutely LOVE this bike

Bought my MT 07 a year ago and I can honestly say this is the best bike I have ever owned. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Only essential mod is the exhaust, Apart from that pretty near perfect.

Wildcard alternative to the MT07 ?

Okay so it's a four cylinder... It's Italian... It's almost certainly going to be unreliable and sound like a box of spanners... But if you want something exotic... And for only five grand brand spanking new... http://youtu.be/mX34OmpnPcE...

    Picture quiz...

The idea here is to solve the clue given in the picture(s). The first person to do so then gets to make their own... and so on... and so on... Ideally the clues must lead to something motorcycle related though the picture(s) themselves can be of anything. To get things going... A nice easy...

How To... Arrow Exhaust DB Killer removal and modification.

This thread is in two parts. The first is simply how to remove/replace the DB Killer (that's a baffle to us old guys). The next part will deal with my ideas to modify the original design to make a variable sound DB Killer. DB Killer Removal/Replacement. Pcture 1 First job is to pry off a...

    Moderator question concerning pictures/videos....

Just wondered whether posting pictures uses up available web space/capacity on the forum? Personally I link from "Photobucket" or "Youtube" so I'd assume not. But if there are any issues can you let us know please.

What other bikes do you own (have owned) and how do they compare to the MT ?

Firstly I should say I didn't put this under "Versus the Competition" because that's not really the point of this thread. The idea is simply to see what other bike(s) people may own/have owned and how they compare to the MT. (But if a moderator wants to move it I've no objection). Not really a...

How To... Fit Arrow Exhaust (shortie Style)

Okay. This follows on from my previous thread "How to... Exhaust System Removal". General overview... In this thread I show how I chose to fit the Arrow exhaust system but without the centre/extension pipe. I preferred this to the manufacturers system. Some of the procedures are the reverse...

The problems with the Arrow exhaust are...

Just took my bike for its first run after fitting the Arrow exhaust system and I have found two main problems... First.... You will find yourself overtaking everything in sight just so as you can hear that wonderful exhaust note. Second... You will find yourself doing the completely...

How To... Exhaust System Removal (with pictures)

First part of my how to remove the original and then fit an Arrow Exhaust system. As I can only post four pictures at a time I will have to do this in two parts. (Bit annoying). This part concentrates on the fairly simple task of removing the exhaust. You will need... 10mm Socket. 12mm...

Call that a twin.... THIS is a twin...

Took my old BSA C11 down to Poole Quay biker night yesterday and happened to park near this strange looking beast. Well Yamaha...698cc my arse The "Flying Millyard" is a five litre V twin made from two Pratt and Whitney aircraft barrels and a completely home made bottom end. and yes... It's...

The all new home made tail tidy thread...

For anyone considering making their own tail tidy.... My original plan was to remove the ally arm of the original design and make up a bracket to mount it higher up. Thing is... A) you need to actually cut some plastic which, should you ever want to replace the original system will show. B)...

Lean angle... Anybody managed to scrape their footpegs yet?

Well I'm certainly no racer. But neither do I want to take the thing back for first service with a square tyre. So, I've been leaning over more and more at roundabouts etc to see how far I can get before things get a little squiffy. Anyway, I'd like to say the bike is excellent and very...

The three kick Rule... A lesson in life.

An old boy farmer is sat on his tractor ploughing his field when he notices a shiny new Range Rover coming up the lane beside him. The Range rover stops and out get three young city gents dressed in brand new Barbour Jackets and Hunter wellies. They then get some shotguns out of the boot of...

    Running in.... Please pass

Only four hundred and fifty miles to go... It's really getting me down now, Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the bike but resisting the temptation to race every other bike/car I come across is proving frustrating to say the least. I find I can nip past most things in traffic but head on up...

    First impressions....

So what was your first impression of riding an MT 07? For me, and apart from the fairly obvious "it's so bleedin' light", was the almost total lack of anything in front of you. The clocks are so low down that if it wasn't for the wing mirrors (which personally I find a little ugly) you could be...

MT for the IOM TT Super Twins?... Maybe next year?

Come on Yamaha... Kawasaki are dominating the Isle of Man TT Super Twins... Surely the MT can blow them in to the weeds.

    New member Dorset

Hi from Bournemouth... Finally managed to get my new Race Blue MT 07. Was initially going to by an ER6 but when I test drove the Yam the poor old Kawasaki seemed like something from the ark. Great bike... Shame about the exhaust. (but I can change that).
