If you look at the Akra site they claim that the exhaust system with db killer fitted gives gives a big boost in torque and power right in that 4k to 6k rev range by itself and it's safe to run with no fuelling mod. Obviously we can't tell if their claim is true but maybe it means the DNA and...
I replaced the rear indicators with Yamaha LED ones and the connectors din't match the bikes wiring - I assume the front ones are the same, bullet connectors on the new indicators but a single connector on the bikes wiring?
Also as I have the inline resistors on the rear indicators I don't need...
Definitely just for show as they flex quite a bit.
Quite like the idea of carbon wrapping these, but as I have a race Blue I reckon they'd look great in that colour.
Anyone how to remove these? Seems like a couple of bolts but can't see how the bottom releases from the bike.
I was thinking of getting these carbon wrapped or race Blue painted.
When I fitted a stage 1 and 2 airfilter /cover to my Xt660x it was the single best mod I did for power gains, BUT to realise the gains and keep the engine safe a PC3 and remap was needed, I gained over 7hp at the wheel and most importantly the riding experience was tremendous in comparison to...
MTC in the UK also have an exhaust system for the MT but the silencer options are seriously pants, the down pipes look fabulous. However sub £500 might be inviting for some
The carbon can Akra is also on eBay from a German seller I think for £630 all in, now that one looks stunning. These don't seem to be type approved and no mention of a cat, depends on your view but I am seriously thinking about it.
Just in case anyone was looking at these, and apologies if you've seen this already:
LEOVINCE Yamaha MT07 2014 ligne compl
Not bad Value at less that £600 all in.
I already have an infinite rad guard but I like the idea of being able to use the billet covers too, which won't fit.
Wonder if you can get race-blu (ish) high temp paint? :-)
Hey bluemachine think I may have seen you around Farnborough, have you got a Fabbi X small screen like mine? :-)
This is definitely happening to my bike since the temperature has gone up outside. Only happens occasionally and not on every ride but I can feel the fuelling and engine 'stumble' as I open the throttle from idle, sometimes it recovers and revs OK and sometimes the engine cuts out. Can't say I'm...
On the DNA website they offer a DNA Filter + Stage 2 DNA airbox cover and quote nearly 2x the airflow that a standard filter will give. They also recommend a fuelling device (Power commander) when using both products but I don't think they are available yet.
However, with the Arrow pipe +...
The instructions are just pictures, but you get used to them very quickly and it shows you all you need to know. You can get some written instructions on the R&G website which describes which panels need to be removed and how, but the actual tail tidy bit is not the same, but the pictures and...
I went back to the dealer that got me the kit and he gave me this out of another box as I didn't have one. I have now fitted this too.
I love the look of the bike now, with a 7 x 5 licence plate it looks amazing from the rear, the tyre looks HUGE :-)
Oh yes one other slight annoyance is that there is no plastic to cover the hole where the tail tidy mounts to the frame. I would have hoped they'd include something in the kit. This leaves a 4cm square hole where water can get under the pillion seat.
Right I finally got round to setting some time aside to fit the Yamaha tail Tidy last night.
The panels and old plate holder were all off in about 10 minutes so very easy there and no broken plastic rivets :-)
Next was the wiring. I knew that the LED tail light had a different connector to the...
