    Ear phones

I have the Bose QC20i earbuds, I bought them mainly because I fly a lot and they are great for long flights. The bonus for me was on the bike, th noise cancelling just about kills all engine noise and wind noise is never loud enough to overwhelm the music even when the volume isn't turned up...

    Ear phones

@Noggie: Yes, with noise cancelling. I have always found the over ear headphones to be too hot for long periods and in the in ear buds I have had before became a bit uncomfortable(slightly painful) the Bose ones have been great, they keep some noise out without the nc switched on, but you...

    Ear phones

I have the Bose earphones, bought them for frequent flights but have used them on the bike a few times. They work well at keeping the wind noise away, most engine noise(standard pipe) as well. I would not use them in traffic as they are a bit too good, but fine for country run. They stay in...

Aerodynamic "Flat Plate Area" up to 100 mph

Up to 100 is fine (blah blah closed roads blah blah). I don't go over this and to be honest normally a good way below on the twisties which is mainly where I ride. The downside is long journeys on dual carriageways or motorways, here much above 70 can become tedious and a mini-screen of some...

3 weeks qualiified and loving it..any riding tips for the novice?

Always imagine everyone is out to get you, watch the wheels, watch the eyes, watch the mouths (if they are talking they aren't paying full attention). As others have said, slow is best, ride at speed that you know you stop in the distance you can see ahead. Watch for diesel on roundabouts...

    Mesh/Grill Inserts

Whatever you guys decide to do I would avoid Infinite Performance Carbon Fibre Motorcyle Accessories as I placed an order on them around a month ago and heard nothing. I am contacting PayPal and Trading Standards tomorrow. Then I'll go somewhere I feel I can rely on.

Buying an ex-demo bike - pros & cons?

If you don't fancy the ex-demo, just pick the colour you want and start phoning around. A lot of dealers will deliver if you don't fancy picking it up yourself, which is what I did. They were only about 45 miles away but getting delivery saved someone having to drive me up there and meant I...

    Recommended dealer in Northampton

Went there today for my first service, £100 all in, very helpful and professional. Apparently I can now go as quick as I want, which is nice

    New colours!!!!

The blue version could grow on me, but it would have been more interesting to see it with the blue frame. The blue frame with silver I'm not keen on at all. Thanks for posting, I do like, pictures of my bike

MT-07 Exhaust Sound & Essential Mods

Doesn't sound like a good idea to mod what ¥1000s went into designing to work with the engine. I don't have an issue with the noise of the standard pipe, kind of operating in stealth mode.;)

    price of first service

I was told about £100 for the first service from my dealer, if it will cost me the same anywhere I will probably go to the place RichMT got his as they are quite a bit nearer home.

    Suspension Adjustments

Great thread, interesting to hear the shared experience. Going to leave mine alone until I get used to it. Being around 80kg stock might be right for me anyway. Ok maybe a little over 80kg but I still have my 'winter weight' and not bikini ready. :)

    Run in now

With working long hours and with a family it could take time to get to the first 600, then 1000 miles. I am being reasonably sensible, keeping it to the 5K limit but with odd burst up the rev range for overtaking, then changing up to bring the revs down again; which should be ok. I did...
