Greetings from a new member in the midlands

Hello all from Nottingham, England.

Totally new to biking but loving it so far. Finished all the tests in October last year and grabbed myself an ex-demo MT07 from Loughborough. What a first bike!

Favourite local trip so far - Nottingham -> Melton -> Rutland Water (working on a return route that takes me through Vale of Belvoir, which should make a good round trip).

Eager for more biking adventures once the cold, wet weather slings its hook. Nice day for it today actually.

Yes, you do have some nice roads round your way. One of my favourites, which is on my backroads route to Cadwell, is from Tilton-on-the-Hill, just south of Melton, to Oakham. Lets me miss out both Melton and Grantham, both of which are pita's if you want to make any progress.

As an ex Grantham resident I heartily agree. God knows what the town planners were thinking, other than "let's create traffic mayhem in a market town". I'll check out the Oakham road
