Destroyed LCD

Alright, so I managed to get some time for myself and went for it.
First of all, the before shot:

And now approximately 7 minutes and 4 applications of toothpaste later:

I couldn't believe my eyes! I must confess I remained skeptical until the very end.


However, after a while successive applications of toothpaste stop producing a better result so I decided to switch to the car polish (which was also recommended by my father-in-law).
And so, the final result:

Apart from a few scratches (which were probably there before the whole fiasco) it looks new again. I'm still shocked, I was sure there was no possible repair for it. Gentlemen, you have saved me from having to buy a new LCD. Thanks a lot for all your help!


By the way, here is the label on the bug-removal-product that caused the problem in the first place:
