Restricting after Purchase

Has anyone had a restrictor kit fitted after purchasing?

If so, could you tell me what sort of cost this set you back please?

Been quoted £150 for a restrictor kit and £30 to fit.

Wondering if it can be done cheaper.

Many thanks!

I've seen restricted kits on eBay for £60, no idea how you fit them but looks to be a purely mechanical solution. I think you need to get a DSA certificate to certify the bike is restricted so I say its worth the £30 to get some one independent to fit it.

Can you ride a Yamaha MT-07 with an A2 licence?

Is £150 for the Yamaha restrictor kit?

Yeah, that was a dealer quote Nuggets. Would rather get it done at a dealer as it would be for my younger Cousin who might be buying it from me.

Did the dealer say if they knobble the ECU as well? I think I read that on the restricted Aussie versions its a mechanical & ECU restriction. Might be worth checking that as well as the cost of de-restricting in the future. I guess £180 including labour isn't too bad, and you get peace of mind its been done properly by a main dealer, you get the neccesary paperwork/certs so it can be run as an A2 bike legally and also the mod can't be used as an excuse in the unfortunate event that you have to claim on the warranty for any reason. It only looks like you have the two options!
