Just a thought on an earlier post - I've been unlucky enough to crash and slide a fazer 1000 on ice and highside an R6 at Cadwell park and both times R&Gs saved me a fortune in repairs. The threaded bars they supply do bend and the nylon bung is soft, no engine or frame damage at all. Every crash is different of course but I am a fan.
